Maybe I Shouldn't Be Surprised...

From the moment we shared our bfp in November, I had so many friends talking to me about everything... I don't think I ever text or talked so much. (This was the first ever bfp since we have been in ART for the past year. It was out last cycle until after the new year.)

So, if you don't read my blog, I had a miscarriage mid December.

I don't really hear from any of them anymore. Nice, right? Suddenly being in the "Mommy Club" but without your child isn't good enough. Never saw that one coming.

  1. I had the exact same experience this summer during my third pregnancy, the one that lasted the longest (9 1/2 weeks) and the only one most of my friends knew about. Suddenly I was a social butterfly, constantly invited out or to people's homes, suddenly getting texts and calls.
When I miscarried it's like I dropped off the face of the earth :(

  2. That's how I feel too. One of the worst of them is a friend of mine that doesn't even have kids.

It's like, hello!? I lost my baby... I didn't catch leprosy.

I am currently stationed 6,000 miles away from home, with my husband who's in the Navy. People I hadn't heard from in almost TWO years started popping up.

  4. Oh that's so irritating! I'm sure part of it is that they don't know what to say and are sorry for you, but man, this is the time you need your friends the most. Ugh! I'm sorry. Hopefully you can find a good community here to help you through.

  5. I refuse to announce a pregnancy early any more for that reason, except to those very close and dear to me who have gone through miscarriages because I know they won't abandon me.

It sucks when we need people the most they think being silent and staying away from us is the best thing to do.

  6. Why are people so afraid to talk to someone who has had a miscarriage? It's crap :-(

And I hear you on the clicky pregnancy/parenthood club, I have often felt like the outcast because I don't have a baby or a bump.

  8. Same thing happened to me. AND I love when your friends have kids and then boom suddenly your dog shit. I fucking hate the Mommy club. I won't even be in it when I have kids. Screw those "Heatheresque" bitches.
