Coworker: How are you?
Me: Tired. Long weekend.
Coworker: With me, every weekend is a long weekend. Kids, ya know.
Me: (sharply) Without kids makes a long weekend (thinking) when your every waking moment is consumed with trying to think of things you can do to get kids, drugs, shots, pills, nutrition, exercise, "self"care, scheduled sex...)
Coworker: Yeah?
Me: Yeah.
Coworker: Oh. Well, you know, it's 24 hours, all the time every time.
Really? It's not part-time? It's not as easy as, oh, say getting pregnant?

Work douchebaggery
When I began my infertility struggle, I told my office manager all about it.
This turned out to be a big mistake on so many levels.
A few months ago, I was having a very hard time, crying a lot and just generally unhappy. I was telling office manager this and she said "you can talk to me anytime, I understand your pain". Great.. I wasn't going to talk to you anyway..but nice to know.
About 1 hour later, she called me into her office to show me a newborn baby outfit she knitted for her nephew.
It was all I could do not to slap her across the face.
